Water Bottle Cozy Pattern

Several very kind people complimented me on the water bottle cozy, which inspired me to write down what I did. This is my first attempt at documenting, so please forgive me for mistakes.

Water Bottle Cozy

Foundation: Start with a loop, 9 sc in loop. Pull tail tight to close, sl with 1^st single crochet to join.

Rnd 1: Ch 1. 1 sc in first st, 2 sc in 2^nd st. Rep 3 times, finish with 1 sc. sl to join. (14 st)

Rnd 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in 1^st st, 1 sc in 2^nd. Rep 5 times, finish with 2 sc in last st. sl to join. (21 st)

Rnd 3: Ch 1. sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st. Rep 5 times. (28 st) sl to join.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc 1. *1 sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st. Rep from * 7 times. (38 st). sl to join.

Rnd 5: Ch 1. sc in front loop only, increasing 1 stitch twice. Sl to join. (40 st)

Rnd 6: sc all the way around. Sl to join.

Rnd 7 – 10: Rep rnd 6.

Rnd 11: Ch 7, skip 3 sc. sc in 4^th sc. Rep 8 times. For last loop, ch 3, dtr in base of 1^st ch 7 (10 loops).

Rnd 12: Ch 7, skip 3 sc. sc in loop. Rep 8 times. For last loop, ch 3, dtr in last ch 7.

Rnd 13 – 16: Rep Rnd 12

Rnd 17: Ch 3, sc in loop. Rep 8 times. For last loop, ch 1, dc in loop.

Rnd 18: Ch 2, dc in current loop (last loop in Rnd 17). DC in dtr, * DC 3 times in loop, dc in sc. Rep from * 8 times. 2 dc in last loop, sl to join.

Rnd 19: With elastic hair band held behind work, sc all the way around, finish off. Weave in ends.
